Andrew Hamilton

Andrew N. Hamilton, CPA is the 12th Orange County Auditor-Controller. Mr. Hamilton was independently elected in June 2022. Previously, Mr. Hamilton served as the Finance Director for the City of Yucaipa, on the Lake Forest City Council and as the Chief Financial Officer at Mesa Water District.

Mr. Hamilton graduated from Taylor University in Upland, Indiana, with a Bachelor’s of Science in Accounting and Systems in 1992. He began his career at a Big 4 CPA firm in Irvine in 1992, obtained his CPA in 1995 and attained progressive accounting experience throughout his career at Walt Disney Company, Gambro Healthcare, GTC Telecom, Semitropic Water Storage District, DLC and Mesa Water District.

Mr. Hamilton resides with his wife and children in Lake Forest, California.

Sal Kureh

The second nominated candidate, Sal Kureh, is a Partner with Capata CPA. He is responsible for the effective planning, execution and delivery of their accounting, audit and business advisory services. He has more than 15 years of experience and worked at a Big Four accounting firm and in private industries as a CFO. He graduated with honors from the California State Polytech University, San Luis Obispo and is a currently licensed CPA.

David Carlson, Ph.D.

David Carlson, is the President for DMC Companies for over 20 years. In addition, Mr. Carlson has recently retired from the County of Orange Audit Oversight Committee having served more than 20 years, ten of which he was the Chair. He has a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics, a Masters of Science in Industrial Administration and a Ph.D. in Engineering, all from the University of Michigan, where he also did post-doctoral work in Financial Policy and taught Computer Systems Analysis & Design. His career in private industry has involved managing about $4 billion in technology and internal controls. He served in the U.S. Army and is a veteran of the Vietnam era.
